The Altar Governs — Who Authorised What You're Building? Broken Altars Series | 5 June 2026

The altar is where authority is established and what is heard is determined. Every enterprise — whatever name it carries, whatever language it uses — is governed by an altar. The question is what is on it, and who authorised what is being built from it.

This session examines the altar as a governmental term, not a religious one. What a defiled or drifted altar produces in enterprises, ministries, and financial structures — and how the governing word of an enterprise shifts from assignment to survival, from calling to reputation, while the language stays the same.

Self-effort does not usually appear as rebellion. It appears as provision and good works. A company whose letterhead read "Restoring the precious things of the earth" was wound up by the courts. Twenty years of Kingdom language, elaborate governance structures, detailed blueprints drawn from Isaiah 60 — and no operational output. Not a hospital built, not a community served, not one transaction closed. The governing word was not the assignment. Expectation is not an altar.

The same diagnostic applies to prayer. A decree requires standing. Altar alignment establishes standing. When the altar is wrong, the decree is void regardless of the Scripture cited — and a void decree does not merely accomplish nothing. It mobilises people and resources around an authority that does not exist. Like the Golden Calf it looks like worship but the altar is false.

The line of recovery runs through the same place. The altar is examined, repaired, and hearing is restored. Works then begin to flow from obedience rather than from self-effort or the expectation of a future event. The throne does not govern the altar. The success of the enterprise does not determine whether the altar is right. The altar determines whether the enterprise will stand.
