I was not planning on giving a word for 2020 as there were so many themes for 2019 that I was content to just rest and ruminate on what God was saying and doing.
However, I felt the Lord speaking to me about 2020 and the new season. I had a clear picture of a blade flying through the air. I could see the sharp end of the blade flying - like a knife or hatchet flying straight and true. I heard the words: "The Blade of the Lord is sharp and true and will hit where it has been targeted." As those words resonated in my spirit I could picture a knife being thrown.
I then saw clearly the picture of a mouth with a blade for a tongue. Very odd but I was reminded that the Word of the Lord is characterised as a sword that divides between soul and spirit. A word is issued from the tongue. I really felt what God was saying is that we were to be joining with heaven in speaking and decreeing those things we want to see targeted. Those things we want to see "hit" and impacted by the word. We are to SPEAK and what we say to a mountain will result in it being cast into the sea. Our tongues are knives and what we say is actually the throwing of the knife that will impact our targets.
Clearly, we don't want to be talking rubbish and impacting things we don't want. Words of division, strife and offence need to be shut down and brought under the dominion of the Holy Spirit. If my words are like thrown swords I want to impact the issues in my life and those things that are impacting the world around me. Take territory, pray for victory and see the Kingdom advance in every area within the sound of my voice - every area in which I can have influence. Pray and agree with heaven.
We have entered a season where our words have martial impacting power and will hit the target and change realities. Pray - focussed on targets knowing that your words are like knives being thrown. Break bondages, free captives, destroy lack and sickness, and join with Jesus in His mission to destroy the works of satan (Is 61 and 1 Jn 3:8).
I was reminded also of a word I gave a few years ago when it seemed like darkness was surrounding Israel and it seemed like everyone was against them. At that time I declared that "God's men were being chosen and that Netanyahu was going to be reelected" and that "the black clad ranks of jihadi warriors arrayed against Israel looked impressive but they were like black crystal and they would be shattered and broken - their strength was illusory against the power of a living God and those who opposed God's people would be shattered like glass".
A word was spoken and the Iranian General was taken out with a number of others. He had dedicated his life to the overthrow of Israel and even led the "Jerusalem force" and had been broken and shattered like glass. Words had gone forth and manifested.
“I will pursue them with the sword until I have made an end of them. I will set my throne in Elam and destroy her king and officials,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 49: 37,38
Make no mistake in this season to gain wisdom and revelation about what the Lord is doing and to speak what we see the Lord saying and do what we see Him doing. This is the season of speaking in power and seeing the impact. Our prayers -the words we are saying-are far more powerful than mere missiles.
